A local businessman and active member of Kingston Chamber of Commerce.  Mark has been a Governor at Lovelace since 2013 and is involved with marketing & promoting the school.

Mark has two boys, both of whom are pupils at Lovelace.

Claire is a Teaching Assistant at Lovelace, and has worked in all years of Key Stage two. She runs the Young Leaders programme at lunchtimes, and does a lot of one-to-one maths. She serves on the Children and Communities Committee, and her special interest as a Governor is the provision of maths at the school.

Gillian Bishop

As a Health and Safety professional and Graduate Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health and Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, Gillian has experience in Project, Facilities and Health and Safety Management.  She has previously served the community by Chairing the PTA of a Primary and Senior School and acting as Treasurer for a Scout Group.  Gillian will use her transferable skills to support Lovelace on the Resources Committee.  Gillian became an Associate Member in September 2017 and retired from the role in July 2018.

Andy is a marketing and social media consultant working with both public and private sector organisations across the UK, Europe and The Americas. He has spent most of his working life driving change and disrupting organisations to push for better results. His career spans across a number of sectors from Telecoms to Intelligence, Law Enforcement to Finance. Andy joined Lovelace as an Associate Governor in 2017 and retired from the role in 2018

Roger retired after a long career with an international banking group headquartered in London. His experience there covered all aspects of banking from Operational Departments to Sales and Marketing in a customer focused role.  The most enjoyable, for Roger, were the last 10 years spent providing banking services for aid organisations across Europe and the Developing World. His grandchildren attend Lovelace.

Gemma is an HR professional working in an outstanding partner school and is trained in safer recruitment in schools and child protection.  Gemma also chaired the Lovelace PFA for 3 years, and has two children who attend Lovelace.

An Assistant Head at Lovelace Primary School with responsibilities for the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Extended Day provision.   Alison has a wide range of experience in Early Years Education across the borough of Kingston and  joined our Headship Team  in 2009.  Alison focuses on providing each child starting their school learning journey at Lovelace with exciting and rich learning opportunities in a caring, nurturing environment.

With a lifelong interest in Education and Professional Training and a career in senior management and board level roles in International Trade, Robert is managing transition for businesses in the consumer and technology sectors as well as developing an elective EMBA module for one of London’s University Business Schools. He is a member of the Westminster Africa Business Group. Robert’s daughter is thriving in Year 5 at Lovelace.

Heather, born in South Africa, moved to England to do some supply teaching and travelling. After meeting her husband, she settled in London and taught English in the Royal Borough of Kingston for 14 years. She has experience with secondary age pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education due to social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Heather has one son who attended Lovelace.

Adele has a wide range of experience including people and performance management, leadership, finance and governance gained working in healthcare. Adele's key interests are safeguarding and supporting the school in its ongoing development.

Lucy is an Assistant Headteacher at Lovelace Primary School with leadership of Years 4-6.  She joined Lovelace in 2011.  As well as being Head of English, Lucy also leads Pupil Voice and meets with the school council fortnightly.

Rob joined Lovelace as Head Teacher in January 2014 following over 10 years as a head teacher in the London Borough of Richmond. He trained locally at Kingston University.

Kay is an ex primary teacher who understands the needs of a school.  She also has eight years’ experience of senior management involving committees, budgets, training and appointing staff, policy making, and strategic planning.  Kay has a child at Lovelace.

An Assistant teacher at a local Secondary School with 20 years of teaching experience.  Robyn has been a governor since 2015, becoming an Associate Member in 2018.  She is currently link governor for SEN and ICT as well as serving on the Achievement Committee.  Robyn retired from the role in June 2018.

A qualified teacher with experience of nearly 20 years, Helen has worked at Lovelace since 2004. She has worked in different areas of the school but predominantly in KS2 and more specifically in Year 6. More recently she has joined the Inclusion team and is now holds the SENCo role. Her interests for the school include SEN and English.

A Chartered Engineer with experience in all aspects of projects work, John has been a governor at Lovelace for over 25 years; including spells as chair, vice-chair and also chairing various committees.  His principal interests for the school include health and safety and premises.  

Matt Sedgwick

Matt has worked at Lovelace since September 2002. Previously, he spent 5 years in Essex where he completed his initial teacher training, his NQT year and taught in several schools.  Marriage and relocation brought him to South West London. All his children have attended Lovelace. During his time at Lovelace he has had many roles and since March 2010 he has been the Deputy Head Teacher: “I love working and serving our school community and it is a privilege to see how we have grown.”

Carol has been with Lovelace since 2010 and is an Assistant Head Teacher with leadership of years 1-3. She leads mathematics and educational visits, including residential visits for all year groups in KS2. Carol organises student placement working with local universities, adult education and secondary schools. She also supports the leadership of the PFA who organise a variety of events through-out the academic year.

Elaine is a Business Analyst with experience of all aspects of project work from developing ideas, analysing data, challenging options and costs through to testing and implementing appropriate solutions. Elaine’s daughter attended Lovelace and during her time there Elaine was a Reading Ranger, helping out with swimming and school trips and was an active member of the PFA.  Elaine joined the Board in September 2016.
