At Lovelace we want all of our children to be smarter, healthier and happier as they journey through our school. Children will become successful learners who enjoy and achieve; confident individuals who lead safe and healthy lives and responsible respectful citizens who make a positive contribution to their families, community and world.
Teachers and staff will know children very well – they will ‘care out loud’ and be ‘relentlessly bothered’ about the academic learning, curriculum, character development and behaviour of every child in their care.
Our vision centres on 12 core values and 6 golden rules which permeate everything that we do. These are summarised into children learning to be ready for learning, respectful and safe. We actively teach and reinforce these values and the behaviours that help us achieve them through whole school assemblies and class teaching.
We recognise that children’s behaviour is not fixed or predetermined and that all children can learn to improve their behaviour. As Lovelace family and team we are proud of ourselves and each other and as a school we all work to improve and grow it. Together we bring a rich heritage, diverseness and experiences to our community – we will work to ensure our school is a harmonious place to be and where pupil behaviour is consistently outstanding.
In 2019 / 2020 academic year we started working towards UNICEFs Rights Respecting School. As a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, we place the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of our school’s ethos and culture to improve well-being. Our school is a place where children’s rights are learned, taught, practised, respected, protected and promoted. We are delighted to have successfully achieved the first stage of the RRSA and are now Bronze: Rights Committed.
