Our Vision
“To create a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment, with friendly and professional staff, in which children can achieve, learn and progress in all areas of development, through their enjoyment of play-based activities”
Join us for a healthy breakfast: juice, milk, cereal and toast with a choice of spreads.
Our friendly, professional staff offer breakfast and a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting) in our purpose-built premises and will take your child safely to their class for the start of the school day.
The Sunset After School Club is a friendly, vibrant, fun and safe environment for your children to enjoy being with friends after school. The provision is led by our Lovelace staff and is in a purpose-built building within the school grounds. We pride ourselves with giving the children a home from home club that carries the ethos of the school. Ensuring core values within a fun and exciting environment.
Children from our reception classes and KS1 are collected from their classrooms and are joined by the KS2 pupils. When the children first arrive at our Sunset Club, they are greeted by staff members to share news from their school day and talk to their friends. Children are offered a finger snack of breadsticks or something similar.
Every day we provide sports activities. The options include table tennis, football, athletics, dodge ball, various games like Fox and Farmers, bats and balls or hoops. These sports take place in the KS1 playground or on the field. We also have the option of using the upper hall in bad weather or darker winter evenings.
As well as sports activities we provide craft activities, this could be anything from painting, drawing, making models and cooking.
Our children have access to computer games, a WII with age-appropriate games, a variety of box games, imaginative play with dressing up clothes, cars, garages, doll’s houses, small world toys and construction sets such as K’nex and Lego. At 4.15pm each evening the children and staff sit together at the table to enjoy their tea. Please see below an example of our menu. We can cater for all dietary requirements as well as offering a sandwich to children if they prefer. After tea the children may choose to have some fruit from our fruit selection
