30 hours free childcare and early education for working parents of 3 and 4 year olds.

Currently, all 3 and 4 year old children are entitled to 15 hours of free early education and childcare a week, for 38 weeks a year starting the term after the child's third birthday. Children in our nursery class attend either 5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions of Universal Entitlement.

From September 2017 this free childcare and education has been extended from 15 to 30 hours a week for children of working families who meet the eligibility criteria. This means that eligible families will be able to access up to a total of 1140 hours of free early education and childcare a year. At Lovelace we will offer this Extended Entitlement within our nursery class. This will mean that children can link together their universal and extended entitlement and attend the nursery during term time between 8.45 and 3.15pm.
