Parents and Carers

We believe that parents are the first educators of their children and therefore encourage a close partnership between parents and school from the outset. Before their children start at Lovelace, parents attend an induction meeting and later the children are invited on a pre school visit. Parents receive a weekly newsletter from the Headteacher, advising them of all school activities and curriculum developments. Meetings are held throughout the year for parents of all children to explain curriculum issues. Open Evenings and an Open Day are held during the school year for more formal contact between parents and teachers to discuss the children’s progress.

Young Carers In Schools

At Lovelace we are aware that some of our pupils are Young Carers. We know that Young Carers may need a little extra support to enjoy and to do well at school. We are committed to ensuring all pupils who are Young Carers are identified and supported effectively. We are currently working towards acheiving a bronze Young Carers Award and as part of our whole school development. Mrs Miller is the operational lead for this award and the developments taking place in school, if you would like to meet with Mrs Miller about this please contact her via the school office.
